Lilly Frances “Tena” Mays, 103

Lilly Frances “Tena” Mays of Mt. Sterling, formerly of Wellington, died Monday Jan. 6, 2025, at Saint Joseph Hospital Mount Sterling after an extended illness, at the age of 103 years, seven months and one day.
Born June 5, 1921 in Wellington, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Ada Peyton Patrick.  She was a member of the Big Woods Community Church in Wellington.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Survivors include three children, Russell (Elaine) Mays, Gail Brown and Janice (John) McCracken; five grandchildren, Rhonda (Greg) Bashford, Randy (Lucy) Mays, Jill Bailey, Glenda Tackett, Lynn (Kevin) Ostrander; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Bashford, Leah (Darrick) Turner, Katie (Mike) Daugherty, David (Sienna) Mays, Andrew Bailey, Matthew Bailey and Anthony Kenney; three great-great-grandchildren, Lexie Collinsworth, Autumn Daugherty and Hallie Jo Turner; sisters, Bonnie Brown and Treva Back; brother, Kenneth Patrick; a host of nieces and nephews; her loving church family and many friends; and special friend and caregiver, Patricia Pastor.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elza Mays; brothers, Jesse, Charles, Claude, Windford, Merrill and Ronald; sisters, Lizzie Sexton, Virgil Patrick, Reva Keith and Fern Patrick; son-in-law, Jim Brown; and grandson-in-law, Robert Tackett.
Service was conducted Sunday, Jan. 12, at Menifee Home for Funerals with Pastor Jimmy Daulton and Pastor David Hale officiating.  Burial was in Johnston Cemetery in Wellington.
Pallbearers were Randy Mays, David Mays, Andrew Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Greg Bashford and Anthony Kenney.
