Burl Stull Jr., 96, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital Mount Sterling.
Born Feb. 7, 1928 in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Burl Stull and Mae Blevins. He was a farmer, lifelong member, and elder at Sugar Grove Christian Church, Farm Bureau (retired board member), and Cattleman’s Association. He was a proud WWII U.S. Army veteran and participated in Kentucky Honor Flight Program.
Survivors include a daughter, Lou Ann Gabbard (Mike) of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Laura Howard (Jeremy) and Elizabeth Jones (Blake); and great-grandchildren, Stella Jones, Michael Howard and Lily Jones.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Couchman Stull; brothers, Alton Stull, Charles Stull and Ralph Stull; and sisters, Thelma Stull, Ruby Jones, Mattie Stephens, Elizabeth Thompson and Loretta Waters.
Service was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frances Nash officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Phil Stull, Joe Thompson, Rodney Stull, Tim Lyons, Charlie Willoughby, Richard Willoughby, Bo McGuire and Alton Stull III.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Garrett, Randy Coyle, Alton Stull Jr., Woody Stull, Gary Thompson and Mike Stull.
