Mack Arthur Compton, 80, died Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 4, 1945, in Jeffersonville, he was the son of the late Garfield and Lizzie Matney Compton.  He proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam Era.  He worked at Hobart for 24 years and was a farmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Benita Carter of Mt. Sterling and Melanie (Paul) Tabor of Jeffersonville; a son, Robert (Dora) Compton of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren, MacKenzie (Derek) Smith, Kaylee Compton, Karlee (Maddox) Hughbanks, Dustin (Kathryn) Tabor, Josh (Taylor) Tabor; three great-grandchildren, Kimber Tabor, Tanner Tabor and Walker Tabor.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Betty” Ingram Compton; three sisters and six brothers.
Service was conducted Wednesday, June 4, at the Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Scott Barnes officiating.  Burial was in the Lovely-Amburgery Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Pallbearers were Dustin Tabor, Derek Smith, Tim Ingram, Thomas Ingram, Todd Ingram and Kenny McVey.
Honorary pallbearers were Danny Ingram, Ricky Ingram, Wayne Ingram, Josh Tabor, Richie McVey and  Maddox Hughbanks.
