May 17, 2025
Montgomery County Emergency Management Director Greg Beam told the Advocate that Montgomery County escaped Friday's severe weather with few problems.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, Beam told the Advocate "So far only trees into power lines. Twice we had around 200 without power on Clark and the Garden Springs area got hit twice with power outages with KU," Beam said.
The gov. is expected to provide a briefing at 5 p.m. today after touring Laurel County. Both the Somerset and London, Ky., areas were impacted by a tornado touching down. Multiple deaths are reported and a trail of destruction has been reported in Laurel.
