Gov to travel to London to survey damage
May 17, 2025
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is expected to travel to Londay today to survey damage. He will then provide an update on the impact of the storm and the state's response at 5 p.m. at Wyan-Pine Grove Elementary School.
The gov. noted a bit ago that
Here is where we currently stand:
- In active rescue phase
- 100,476 without power
- Five counties have declared a state of emergency (1 written, 4 verbal)
- Confirmed fatalities (this number will likely grow): 14
- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting minimal roadway impacts
"I want to thank Kentucky Emergency Management, first responders, Kentucky State Police, local officials and Kentuckians across our state for working through the night to keep everyone informed and safe. All of our resources are now focused on rescue efforts. Please pray for the families affected. We will get through this together," Beshear said.
