James “Jim” McGinnis, 66

James “Jim” McGinnis, 66, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday, March 28, 2025, at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1958 in Chicopee, Mass. He was the owner of McGinnis Jewelers. He had served on the Montgomery County Board of Education, Montgomery County Ambulance Board, Chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party, State Republican Executive Committee, Montgomery County Board of Elections and Montgomery County Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Hart McGinnis; son, Nathan McGinnis (Mary McKinney) of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Natalie McGinnis Vazquez (Joseph) of Mt. Sterling; and grandchildren, Cameron Sexton, Sara Sturgell, Jake Sturgell, Abel Vazquez and Max Vazquez.
Service was conducted Tuesday, April 1, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Murphy officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nathan McGinnis, Cameron Sexton, Jake Sturgell, Joseph Vazquez, Jacob Crump, Brent Risner and Brandon Back.
