Bobby Carroll Sponcil, 72, of Jeffersonville, died Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital Lexington.
Born Nov. 18, 1952, in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Lyndsay William and Marie Davis Sponcil.  He attended Camargo Church of God, worked for Hobart Manufacturing and owned Sponcil’s Grocery Store.  He loved to fish, yard sales and trading with his friends.  His favorite hobby was gardening, along with collecting pocket knives, guns and silver.
Survivors include his life partner, Maxine O’Hair of Clay City; son, Bobby Sponcil of Jeffersonville; daughter, Lida Collins (Randy) of Berea; brother, F.M. Sponcil (Patsy) of Camargo; sisters, Margaret Marie Dalton (James) of Xenia, Ohio, Lida Clay Agee of Camargo and Thelma Jean Daniel of Camargo; grandchildren, Peyton Sponcil, Courtney Spangler and Mackenzie Sponcil; great-grandchildren, Conner Tubbs and Lucas Tubbs; and his beloved dog, Trump.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Bud Sponcil, Lyndsay William Sponcil Jr. and John Thomas Sponcil; and sisters, Willa Maxine Ricketts, Virginia Maywood Sponcil and Mabel Louise Sponcil.
Service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, April 4, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Barnes officiating.  Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery.  Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday.
Pallbearers will be Steve Agee, Kelvin Peyton, Chris Daniel, Tim Sponcil, Mike McGuire and Steve Mann.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Reffitt, Tony Terry, Gary Haymaker, Randy Collins and Danny Oney.
