Veanie Cockrell, 76

Veanie Cockrell, 76, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Born June 15, 1948, in Mt. Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Minnie Hall.  She was a member of the Gateway Church of God and retired custodian for the Montgomery County Schools. 
Survivors include three sons, Johnny Martin (Angel), Gilbert Martin (Brenda) and Tim Martin (Dixie Black); 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Hall; and eight sisters, Mattie, Billie Joe, Nellie, Flora, Mary, Rachel, Libby and Maggie.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Martin; second husband, Glenn Cockrell; and a daughter, Janice Renee Martin.
Service was conducted Friday, Feb. 7 at the Gateway Church of God with Bro. Tim Cole officiating. Burial was in the Martin-Willoughby Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
Pallbearers were Andrew Martin, Adam Martin, Vernon Martin Jr., Johnny Martin, Gilbert Martin, Jared Ward and Chuck Prince.
Honorary pallbearers were Whitney Ward, Brandi Reed, Jessica Myers, Madison Shanks and Abby Martin.
Grayson Funeral Home was in charge of services.
