Shirley Lee Tabor, 89

Shirley Lee Tabor, 89, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born Feb. 7, 1936, in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Sarah Caudill. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and exceptional cooking skills. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and countless moments of laughter that she shared with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Johnnie Tabor; two sons, Kirby (Marsha) Tabor and Johnnie Howard (Jenny) Tabor; six grandchildren, April (Bryan) Lawson, Megan (Jeremy) Greene, Sarah (Brandon) Tabor, Brandi (Eric) Cook, Maci (Jared) Daniels and Spencer (Sydney) Tabor; four great-grandchildren, Mason Lawson, Shelby Lawson, Kyra Wheeler and Jameson Daniels.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James Doodle Tabor; and eight brothers and sisters.
Service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, at the Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Charles “Hammer” McGuire officiating. Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday. Burial will be in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Cook, Bryan Lawson, Mason Lawson, Jared Daniels, Spencer Tabor and Brandon Thorpe.
Arrangements are under the direction of Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals.
