Marianne Gatton, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, after an extended illness, with her loving family by her side.
She spent much of her life in Mt. Sterling, Washington Court House, and Columbus, building a warm and caring home wherever she went. A longtime and beloved employee of Sugar Creek Packing Co., she made lasting friendships and touched many lives throughout her decades of service. She was a gentle and kind-hearted soul who found joy in cooking, gardening, birdwatching, houseplants, and most of all, in the simple pleasure of laughing with those she loved. She cherished every moment with her family. Her kindness, laughter, generosity and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, reminding us to cherish life’s simple moments and the warmth of family.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Fargnoli and her fiancé, Todd Rozens; son, Adam Gatton and his wife, Amanda; treasured grandchildren, Jacob McConkey and Carmen Gatton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces who held her dear to their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Verna Dillon; and brothers, John Dillon and William Dillon.
In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be planned for the spring, giving family and friends an opportunity to gather, share memories, and honor her life together.
