Down Memory Lane, Back Then return; we want to hear from you!

February 13, 2025

We are excited this week about the return of some “oldies but goodies” to the Advocate.
Back Then will now be appearing weekly on our opinion page. You can view an example at left.
Back Then is a great opportunity for our readers to participate by submitting photos of community events from years past, local people, buildings, etc.
We will also periodically include interesting photos/articles that have appeared in Advocate’s through the years as part of Back Then.
In addition, we are thrilled to invite our readers to take a stroll with us Down Memory Lane. This highly read feature in the Advocate has resumed publication this week (see below). In Down Memory Lane we showcase community happenings, highlight sports moments and local news  from 10, 20 and 30 years ago.
It’s very likely you might find your own name, a family member or friend’s in Down Memory Lane from time to time.
If you haven’t visited us at our new location, we encourage you to do so.
We have settled in nicely back downtown and invite our readers and advertisers to stop by and say hello. We are now located at 42 S. Bank St.
Need to place an ad? Let us help promote your business! Do you have an item to sell, apartment for rent or offer a service? We can help you with a classified listing. Give Sharon or Lisa a call at 859-498-2222.
The Advocate’s goal remains the same: to continue as the community’s No. 1 source for reliable, factual news. We are the eyes and ears of our community and each issue will offer coverage of government meetings, breaking news and community events. In addition, our issues will have various feature stories involving a number of our wonderful and unique local residents!
The Advocate welcomes story ideas for both our news and sports sections. Do you know someone with an unusual talent, fun hobby, interesting job or story? Give Editor Jamie Vinson a call at 859-498-2222. You can also reach her by email at news@msadvocate.com.
You can find a full listing of contact emails for our various departments in the box below at far left.
The Advocate appreciates your continued support! Our dedicated readers and advertisers are why we are able to continue bringing you true, factual news each week!
