Randall Dwight Coyle, 66

January 31, 2025

Randall Dwight Coyle, 66, affectionately known as “RC,” died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling.
Born Nov. 1, 1958, in Mt. Sterling, he was the son of Carolyn Highley Coyle and the late Kenneth Coyle.  He dedicated over three decades of his life to serving his community through various roles in education and athletics.  As a janitor for 31 years, he ensured a clean and welcoming environment for students and staff alike.  His passion for sports led him to coach for 17 years and serve as an athletic director for three years, where he profoundly impacted the lives of many young athletes.  He was a beloved member of the Sugar Grove Christian Church, where his fun-loving and outgoing personality endeared him to many.  He had a zest for life that was evident in all he did, from his professional duties to his personal hobbies, which included coaching and watching sports, traveling, spending time outdoors, and indulging in music.  One of his greatest joys was spending quality time with his cherished granddaughter, “Cam Cam.” He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a spirit that encouraged all who knew him to embrace life fully.
Survivors include his devoted mother, Carolyn Coyle of Owingsville; son, William Nelson Coyle (Tori) of Frankfort; beloved granddaughter, Cameron “Cam Cam”; and his companion, Mary Duff of Farmers.
Service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 25, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastors Francis Nash and Charles McGuire officiating.  Burial was in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Anthony Coyle, Phil Stull, Johnny Botts, Gary Boyd, Richard Willoughby, Bo McGuire, Charlie Willoughby and Mike McGuire.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Garrett, Mike Highley, Woody Stull and Mike Gabbard.
In memory of RC, contributions are suggested to the Sugar Grove Christian Church.
He will be missed deeply but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
