Nancy Carol Vice Hart, 80

January 31, 2025

Nancy Carol Vice Hart, 80, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 25, 2025, after a long illness, at Windsor Care Center.
Born May 14, 1944, in Moorefield, she was the daughter of the late Marion Thomas Vice and Gladys Mae Shields Vice.  She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Clifton Brooks Hart, and a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and Mamaw.  After retiring from Jockey International, she and Cliff owned and operated Hart’s 76 in Mt. Sterling.  They enjoyed their time traveling and performing with the Gateway Twirlers, spending their Saturdays together shopping, and spoiling their one and only grandson. Their memories made camping in the Grand Canyon, annual beach vacations, and trips to Gatlinburg with extended family will always be treasured.  She was constantly on her feet, whether at work or at home. She was an incredible nurturer, graciously providing for her family with steadfast love and care.  At any time she could be found sweeping floors, folding laundry, ironing, washing dishes, helping her grandson with his spelling words, or tending to the family pet.
Survivors include her beloved daughter, Cindy (Stacy) Smith; cherished grandson, Aaron (Haleigh) Smith; sisters, Coretta Crump and Jeannette Orme; in-laws, Billy and Scottie Blevins; nieces, Pam (David) Sons, Melissa (Nila) Barnes, Charlotte Vice, Ruthie Goodpastor and Tracy (Chuck) Sorrell; nephews, Bobby Vice, Shaun (Tricia) Orme, Steve (Angie) Smathers, Jeffrey Vice, Martin Grey, Greg (Sue) Blevins and Terry (Scarlet) Blevins; and many other adored great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in departure of this life by brothers, JR Vice, Billy Vice, Charles Vice and Harold T. Vice; sisters, Margaret Grey and Joyce Smathers; niece, Sherry Vice; great-nephew, Larry Ballard; in-laws, Ovella and Bob Petitt; and brothers-in-law, Tommy Orme and William Crump.
Service was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel with Pastors, Chris Wells and Austin Lewis of First Baptist Mount Sterling officiating.  Burial was in Longview Cemetery in Bethel.
Pallbearers were Stacy Smith, Aaron Smith, David Sons, Terry Blevins, Steve Smathers, Shaun Orme and Chuck Sorrell.
Throughout the journey of her long illness, she and the family have been blessed by the support of many friends and caregivers.  She will be remembered for her grace and kind heart even through her illness.
The family extends their gratitude to her roommate, Donna and the staff of Windsor Care Center. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals.
