Adam James Bowling, 86, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital Main, Lexington.
Born Oct. 24, 1938, in Leslie County, he was the son of the late Eli Bowling and Fay Feltner. He attended Gateway Church of God and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Rockwell International after 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Adams Bowling; son, Jamie Bowling (Michelle) of Richmond; sisters, Veronica Canter of Mt. Sterling, Anna Lee Thompson of Pikeville, Gail Leach of Georgetown, Karen Donithan (Larry) of Richmond, Kathy Hiler (Charlie) of Mt. Sterling and Gloria Maddox (Phil) of Richmond; and a grandchild, Evan James Bowling.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Reba Bowling; and a brother, Gary Bowling.
Service was conducted Monday, Dec. 30, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Cole officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chester Rogers, Michael Boyd Thompson, Mike Hobbs, Larry Donithan, Charlie Hiler and Phil Maddox.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
