Kristie Marie Burrus, 43, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.
Born Oct. 18, 1980, in Versailles, she was the daughter of Jamie and Kathy Garrett. She worked for Carrington Green Golf Course. She was a member of NJROTC Color Guard in high school, loved to play golf and fly, and horses were her passion. She belonged to the Little Eagles Organization at the local airport.
In addition to her parents survivors include a son, Ian Burrus (Stacy) of Jeffersonville; daughter, Alexis Martin of Camargo; and sisters, Virginia Carol Burrus of Mt. Sterling, Aviva Stegall of Morehead and Christy Garrett Purvis of Owingsville; and a step-brother, Scott Jackson of Lexington.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Brave Hearts Equine Center, 961 Russell Cave Rd., Paris, Ky., 40361.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
