Nora Burgess Helton, 79, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at home.
Born Feb. 13, 1945, she was the daughter of the late David and Lucille Burgess. She was a lifelong resident of Mt. Sterling and member of the Christian Assembly of God. She retired from Lion Apparel and Cowden, where she worked as a seamstress.
Blessed with a large family, survivors include two daughters, Connie Rothwell and Shelly (Michael) Terry, both of Mt. Sterling; a son, Roger Daren (Patricia) Helton of Mt. Sterling; eight grandchildren, Wendy (Brian) Tabor, Andrew Setters, Brandon Bellamy, Lindsey Bellamy, Dylan (Jada) Helton, Nathaniel Terry, Randolph Vance and Cassie Vance; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Helton; her lifelong companion, Roger Helton; three brothers, Emery Burgess, Clemmie Burgess and Jimmy Burgess; and two half brothers, Argie Burgess and Chessie Burgess.
Service was conducted Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Christian Assembly of God with Scott Barnes officiating. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andrew Setters, Brandon Bellamy, Dylan Helton, Nathaniel Terry, Brian Tabor and Brent Helton.
Funeral services entrusted to the care of Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals.
