Annual community Thanksgiving dinner to be held Nov. 22

A hot holiday meal will once again be offered to anyone in the community during the annual community Thanksgiving dinner.

The free meal will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Montgomery County Health and Civic Center Nov. 22, said Miranda Crouch, pastoral team member for the Queen Street Christian Fellowship.

The event is sponsored by Queen Street Christian Fellowship in cooperation with and support of the Montgomery County Ministerial Association, local churches, businesses and individuals.

“It seems like every year it keeps growing,” Crouch said. “I’m very proud of our community that has made this a positive event.”

The menu will feature several signature Thanksgiving dishes like turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, dressing and cranberry sauce.
Donuts and coffee will be served at 9 a.m. with musicians offering entertainment throughout the day.

Door prizes will also be offered.

“Come and enjoy the fellowship and enjoy the music,” Crouch said.
For those who cannot make it to the civic center for the meal, Crouch said deliveries will be made to the Main Cross and Montgomery Square apartments and to shut-ins.

Meals will also be delivered to the sheriff’s dept., police dept., fire dept., jail and dispatch office, she added.

Volunteers are still needed to help serve and deliver the food, Crouch said, in addition to musicians and donations for the event.
